Things To Do In Edson, Alberta
The Town of Edson, Alberta is a vibrant community located midway between Edmonton and Jasper National Park. Located on the Yellowhead Highway, and just two hours from Jasper, Edson is the perfect stopover for any cross-Canada travellers and boasts a thriving oil, gas, coal, and timber economy. More than just a pit stop, the local area is home to great skiing, hiking, biking, horseback riding, and wildlife sightseeing, providing recreation opportunities year-round.

The Totem Motel is perfectly situated on the Yellowhead Highway, on the eastern side of town. We are steps away from restaurants, including Tim Hortons,
Smitty’s Restaurant, Boston Pizza and Original Joe’s Restaurant and Bar, and a few blocks from the Edson Healthcare Centre.

Talisman Leisure Centre
The Talisman Leisure Centre boasts twin ice arenas, an indoor swimming pool with five circuit lanes, a waterslide, hot tub and sauna.

Galloway Station Museum & Travel Centre
With plenty of green space to explore and a wonderful coffee shop, this old time railway station museum features interesting exhibits, local artists, and a gift shop.
Edson Curling Club
Truly an all-Canadian sport, no town is without a curling club. Operating out of the Edson & District Recreational Complex,
the Edson Curling Club features league play and Bonspiels.
Edson Golf Course
This semi-private mountain-inspired course features holes nestled in a mature natural forest with rolling hills and great scenery.
The Edson Golf Course facility has a Pro Shop, a practice facility, putting green and food/drinks.
Skateboard Park/BMX Track
Designed for riders of every age and skill level, the Edson Skateboard Park and BMX Track is great for beginners but still provides challenges for the more experienced boarder.
The concrete park is well-lit, open daily until 11 p.m. until the snow arrives.
Red Brick Arts Centre and Museum
Known as Edson’s cultural cornerstone, the Red Brick Art Gallery houses an art gallery,
the Hatlen Theatre, a school room museum and a gift shop. The centre hosts art-inspired events year-round.
